The teachers at FDE have recently begun studying a book called “Every Child A Super Reader,” written by Pam Allyn and Ernest Morrell. It is our hope, that through this book, we will be able to help all students become super readers, and those who are already super readers to continue to grow as readers. Most chapters of the book have a section called “Super Reader Family Guide.” This section typically shares the main ideas, strategies that teachers are discussing and implementing at school with strategies you can use at home to foster your child’s love of reading and support their growth as super readers. Click on this link to read a letter to you about super readers. Click on this link to learn about the Top Ten Ways to Nurture a Super Reader. Both resources are in English and Spanish.
